A Guide to Planning a Trip To China
It may be daunting to plan a trip to China even if you have already experienced many travels abroad. If it is your first time to visit China, then here are some simple steps to help you in planning your trip.
The first thing to consider is the places where you want to go. Well, there’s Beijing, Xi’an, and Shanghai. But it would also be nice to visit Guilin and Chengdu. Make sure that you go to places that will interest you. If you make your own research, you will be able to determine if the place is the one you want to go to. Make sure to check out what activities you can do in these places.
In Beijing you will see both historical and modern places. Sights to see in Beijing are the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China.
If you have a knack for history then Xi’an is another great destination. Here is the place where China began as a nation. China’s first emperor ruled here. This is the place of the famous grand Terracotta Army, the Wild Big Goose Pagodas, and the Great Mosque.
The largest and showiest city of China in Shanghai. This the modern city has a great skyline with towering buildings. You can tour Hangzhou, Suzhou, or Huangshan which are water towns.
In Guilin, you have picturesque scenery and you can also find the minority culture in China. You can see many beautiful landscapes and you can escape from the city to relax here. In Yangshuo, you can cruise the Li River. At the Longji Rice Terraces you will find a minority culture where you can spend some days. This is where they plant in tiered fields and you can get to meet the Zhuang and Yao minorities.
If you want to see giant pandas, then you should visit Chengdu. In Chengdu you also get to taste great cuisine like the Spicy Sichuan hotpot.
The next thing to do is to decide the duration of your stay. If you don’t want to just scratch the surface of China, then a week would be ideal.
It is important to be aware of the gateway cities and China’s visa policy. Shangai and Beijing are the two gateway cities for your international flight. You can also enter China via Hong Kong.
One of your considerations should be the best time to travel to China. You can visit China’s cultural and historical attractions all year round. If you will do anything in these regions, seasons don’t affect it. It is during spring and autumn or from April to October that you can best and the most comfortable time to go to China.
